Being the Elite Episode

Here is a relatively quick summary of the major angles leading into Full Gear. Links to AEW's Youtube, Twitter and Instagram with highlights and clips of what is going on. I'm including other angles that I feel might end up being relevant to Full Gear, but am not attempting to summarize everything.
The Buy In: Serena Deeb (NWA Women’s Champion) vs Allisyn Kay
Summary: Serena Deeb is a wrestling veteran, very skilled in the ring, who has just become the NWA champion, in addition to being an AEW wrestler. Allisyn Kay, a former NWA Champion, wants her old title belt back.

• 9/2 - Serena Deeb, in her AEW debut, lost against visiting NWA Champion Thunder Rosa.
• 10/27 - Serena Deeb had a rematch against NWA champion Thunder Rosa on her own turf, and won the NWA Women’s Championship. (Watch the PPV here on Fite TV)
• 10/28 - Serena Deeb defended the NWA belt against newcomer Layla Hirsch.
• 11/4 - AEW announced that former NWA Champion Allysin Kay will now challenge Serena Deeb for the NWA title at Full Gear.

John Silver vs. Orange Cassidy
Summary: Orange Cassidy is a lazy wrestler who can go toe to toe with the best, if he bothers to try. John Silver, a member of the Dark Order, is a little bundle of hyperactive aggression. Orange Cassidy took on the leader of the Dark Order, Mr. Brodie Lee for the TNT championship. While Mr. Brodie Lee won, the Dark Order, and John Silver in particular, want to punish Cassidy for even trying in the first place.
This will be a pretty comedic match, by two people who are genuinely good in the ring.

• 9/23 - Mr. Brodie Lee, with the Dark Order at ringside, faced Orange Cassidy to retain the TNT Championship. John Silver interfered with the match to help Mr. Brodie Lee get the win.
• 9/30 - Orange Cassidy beats Preston Vance of the Dark Order. John Silver mocks Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends during the match.
• 10/14 - Orange Cassidy faced Cody, who had just won back the TNT Championship. John Silver tried to interfere but was ejected from ringside. Orange Cassidy pinned Cody, but ran out of time.
• 10/21 - John Silver intensely cuts a promo about how the Dark Order is going to dominate all of AEW.
• 10/21 - John Silver and Alex Reynolds face Private Party, the Butcher and the Blade and the Young Bucks for the chance to face FTR at Full Gear. They lose, but Silver does look pretty darn good. (Reynolds gets injured though.)
• 10/28 - John Silver attacks Orange Cassidy during the lumberjack rematch with Cody for the TNT Championship, allowing Cody to win.
• 11/4 - John Silver and most of Dark Order attack Orange Cassidy at ringside.
• 11/4 - Orange Cassidy stops John Silver from hitting Cody with a chair after the Dark Order’s defeat.

TNT Title: Cody Rhodes (TNT Champion) vs. Darby Allin
Summary: Cody is the son of legendary wrestler Dusty Rhodes, a charming talker and face of the company. He is the TNT Champion. Darby Allin is a reckless daredevil. They have faced off often over the past year, with Cody barely managing to win every time. Will Darby finally win over Cody?

• 9/23 - Cody returns after a vicious beatdown by Mr. Brodie Lee weeks prior. Then, Mr. Brodie Lee challenges Cody to a Dog Collar match.
• 9/30 - Darby Allin beats Absolute Ricky Starks. This will later be revealed as why Allin is facing Cody at Full Gear.
• 9/30 - Cody at first seems to not accept the Dog Collar match, but then agrees. He and Mr. Brodie Lee get in a big brawl.
• 10/7 - Cody beats Mr. Brodie Lee in a Dog Collar match to regain the TNT Championship. Orange Cassidy will be the next challenger.
• 10/14 - Darby Allin watches as Orange Cassidy almost beats Cody, hitting a time limit tie. Cody retains the TNT Championship. Then, Darby Allin is announced as the challenger for the TNT Championship at Full Gear.
• 10/28 - Darby Allin watches as Cody beats Orange Cassidy in a Lumberjack match for the TNT Championship.
• 11/4 - Taz is upset that neither Brian Cage or Ricky Starks are booked for Full Gear. Starks feels he deserves the slot Darby got. Taz says that they will be at Full Gear anyways.
• 11/4 - Cody, with the help of the Gunn Club beats the Dark Order. He then calls out a watching Darby Allin before their match at Full Gear.

World Tag Team Titles: FTR (AEW Tag Team Champions) vs. The Young Bucks
Stipulation: If the Bucks lose, they can never challenge for the Tag Team belts again.
Summary: FTR are arrogant brawlers who say they're the best tag team in the world, and they have the AEW Tag Team titles to prove it. The Young Bucks are arrogant high-fliers who say they're the best tag team in the world. They've both been arguing over who is the best for years, and now finally get to prove it. Previously, FTR messed with the Young Bucks by manipulating Hangman Adam Page, taking the Bucks out of the last title match, and the Bucks are still upset about it.

• 9/9 - The Young Bucks superkick Alex Marvez when he tries to interview them about the aftermath of All Out.
• 9/16 - The Young Bucks superkick a referee, then get mocked by FTR.
• 9/23 - Matt Jackson breaks Tony Schiavone's phone when he brings up FTR.
• 9/23 - FTR announce that they'll be doing shorter title defenses against teams they pick.
• 9/30 - FTR claim the Young Bucks don't deserve a title shot. Then, Matt Jackson superkicks Tony Schiavone to interrupt the interview.
• 9/30 - FTR defends the title belts against SCU.
• 10/7 - FTR defends the title belts against TH2. Best Friends continue to demand a title shot, but FTR still chicken out.
• 10/7 - The Young Bucks watch FTR's match against TH2 at a very strange angle. Then, they superkick the camera man.
• 10/14 - FTR defends the title belts against Best Friends.
• 10/14 - Four tag teams are chosen to compete for a chance to challenge FTR. The Young Bucks are one of them, and superkick all of their competitors.
• 10/21 - The Young Bucks win the 4 way match for the chance to challenge FTR at Full Gear, but are attacked by FTR afterward. Matt Jackson's leg is injured.
• 10/28 - FTR and The Young Bucks are interviewed. FTR leave when they think the Young Bucks are getting preferential treatment. The Bucks announce that if they lose this match, they’ll never challenge for the tag titles again.
• 11/4 - The injured Young Bucks beat Private Party. FTR tries to jump them again after the match, but Hangman Adam Page, followed by Kenny Omega come to their aid.
• 11/4 - Recap of the storyline leading up to the match.
• 11/4 - Tully Blanchard has been banned from ringside for the match at Full Gear.

Women's World Title: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Nyla Rose
Summary: Hikaru Shida is the AEW Women's champion, who had been doing an open challenge for her title. Nyla Rose is a bruiser of a beast, loving to slam women through tables. She's recently gotten Vickie Guererro as her manager. Nyla lost her world title to Shida earlier this year, and has been waiting for a rematch.

• 9/9 - After Nyla defeats Tay Conti, Shida makes sure Nyla doesn't attack her after the match.
• 10/13 - Nyla said she wouldn't go into the ring again until she got her title match against Shida.
• 10/14 - Shida defends the world title against Big Swole.
• 10/28 - Shida accepts Nyla's challenge for Full Gear.
• 11/4 - After Nyla Rose quickly beats Red Velvet, Nyla’s manager, Vickie Guererro calls out Shida in the crowd.

World Title Eliminator Tournament Final: Kenny Omega vs. Hangman Page
Summary: Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page until recently were tag team champions. Hangman's bad decisions lead to their defeat at the hands of FTR. Now Kenny wants to go back to being a singles star, and Adam Page feels abandoned and hurt. Can the sad drunken cowboy beat his former partner, one of the best wrestlers on the planet? Winner of this match gets a shot at the World Championship.
The saga of Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page is one of the best storylines in wrestling to date. The first chunk of it is summarized here, and the second chunk was summarized by me here.
I am not including the Being The Elite segments here too, even though Hangman has been doing some REALLY good work there, because they are really tied up with other plots and hard to summarize briefly.

• 9/5 - Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page lose their teamwork during the title defense against FTR. FTR wins the match and the Tag Team belts. Kenny Omega storms off without Hangman or the Young Bucks.
• 9/9 -Tony Schiavone interviews Hangman Adam Page about the loss at All Out, and how he's really hurting after it, but feels they can continue as a tag team together.
• 9/9 -JR interviews Kenny Omega about the loss at All Out, and how he's ready to move on and return to singles competition.
• 9/16 - Hangman gets a singles victory against Frankie Kazarian, while Kenny on Commentary is passive-aggressively berating him. It was originally going to be a tag match, but Kenny said no.
• 9/23 - Hangman gets another singles victory against Evil Uno, in what was also a tag match that Kenny passed on. Kenny continued to do passive-aggressive commentary during the match.
• 9/30 - The Eliminator Tournament to determine the next contender for the AEW World Title is announced, and Kenny Omega will be in it, shocking Hangman Adam Page.
• 10/21 - Hangman Adam Page beats Colt Cabana to move on in the Eliminator Tournament.
• 10/21 - Kenny Omega, with a new arrogant attitude, swiftly beats Sonny Kiss to move on in the Eliminator Tournament.
• 10/28 - Hangman Adam Page beats Wardlow to become a finalist in the Eliminator Tournament.
• 10/28 - Kenny beats Penta El Zero Miedo to become a finalist in the Eliminator Tournament. Now he'll face Hangman at Full Gear.
• 11/4 - Kenny Omega is interviewed about the Full Gear match against Hangman. He's confident.
• 11/4 - Hangman Adam Page is interviewed about the Full Gear match against Kenny. He isn't.
• 11/4 - Video package set to "You Don't Know What You've Got, Till It's Gone"
• 11/4 - Both Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega show up to help the Young Bucks deal with FTR. Page and Omega shake hands, but there is still tension between them.

Chris Jericho vs. MJF
Stipulation: If MJF wins, he can join The Inner Circle.
Summary: Chris Jericho is a raging egotistical rock star, and leads the villainous Inner Circle. MJF is a spoiled egotistical rich guy, with a massive bodyguard in Wardlow. MJF wants to join the Inner Circle, but has to beat Chris Jericho to prove he has what it takes.

• 9/9 - MJF and Jericho meet and compliment each other, but each secretly call the other a loser.
• 9/16 - MJF announces that he’ll consider joining one of the many factions forming at AEW.
• 9/23 - MJF and Jericho both know the other called them a loser, but seem to bond over it.
• 9/30 - MJF and Wardlow give gifts to the Inner Circle. But Sammy Guevara doesn't get a gift.
• 10/14 - MJF officially asks Jericho if he can join the Inner Circle. He gives Sammy a jacket that is completely too big for him. Jericho decides to have a dinner meeting with MJF first.
• 10/21 - At the dinner meeting, Jericho and MJF do a musical number together. Jericho decides to have a Town Hall meeting to decide if MJF can join the Inner Circle.
• 10/28 - The Town Hall meeting to determine if MJF should join the Inner Circle: Part One
• 10/28 - The Town Hall meeting to determine if MJF should join the Inner Circle: Part Two
• 10/28 - At the end of the Town Hall, Jericho issues the challenge. If MJF can beat him at Full Gear, he gets in the Inner Circle. Sammy Guevara and Ortiz, who don’t approve, challenge MJF and Wardlow for next week’s Dynamite.
• 11/4 - Before MJF and Wardlow face Sammy and Ortiz, Jericho calls MJF "soft."
• 11/4 MJF and Wardlow face Sammy Guevara and Ortiz. Matt Hardy, in disguise, attacks Sammy in anticipation of their match, allowing MJF to win. MJF then attacks Chris Jericho at the announcers desk.

Elite Deletion: Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara
Summary: Matt Hardy, a legend in the ring, has been trying to get Sammy Guevara to reach his full potential by leaving Chris Jericho's side. Sammy doesn't want an old man telling him what to do. They've been feuding for months now, with both of them getting injured along the way. It really needs to end.
This will be a cinematic match, filmed at the Hardy Compound.

• 9/5 - Matt Hardy is legitimately injured during his match against Sammy at All Out, but finishes the match anyways, despite that being a really really dumb idea, beating Sammy Guevara. Probably AEW's worst decision to date.
• 9/9 - After being seriously injured at All Out, Matt Hardy speaks about how he's going to rest up and recover.
• 9/16 Matt Hardy has been ambushed and attacked backstage by unknown assailants. The Inner Circle arrive, but claim not to know anything about it.
• 9/23 - Matt Hardy tries to figure out who attacked him backstage. Then, Jericho shows up, admitting he didn't assault Matt Hardy.
• 10/14 - Sammy Guevara issues a challenge to Matt Hardy. He was the one who attacked Matt Hardy back stage. It was him all along.
• 10/23 - While Matt cheers on Private Party during their match, Sammy interrupts him. Sammy and Matt fight each other at ringside.,
• 11/4 - Sammy Guevara, during his match against MJF and Wardlow, is attacked by Matt Hardy, who was dressed as Serpentico.
• 11/4 - While Matt Hardy is coaching Private Party before their match, Sammy Guevara attacks him from behind.

AEW World Title "I Quit" Match: Jon Moxley (AEW Champion) vs. Eddie Kingston
Summary: Jon Moxley is a tough bastard, who spent years in the WWE, and beat Chris Jericho to become the AEW World Champion earlier this year. Eddie Kingston has been an indie wrestler for years, struggling to make ends meet before recently joining AEW. Eddie thinks Moxley is a sell out. Moxley thinks Eddie has become bitter and jealous. Once friends, now they're going to practically murder each other in the ring.
NOTE: The promos that both Moxley and Kingston are giving are PHENOMENAL.

• 9/5 - At the Casino Battle Royale at All Out, Lance Archer is the last man standing, but didn't technically get Eddie Kingston over the top rope. Lance wins a shot at the world title, but Eddie is pissed.
• 9/16 - Eddie Kingston points out that he didn't lose the Battle Royale at All Out. He claims he should get a title shot.
• 9/23 - Eddie Kingston calls out Moxley before their title match later that evening.
• 9/23 - Moxley manages to choke out Kingston, and retain the AEW World Championship. After the match, Moxley is attacked by the Lucha Bros.
• 9/30 - Kingston harasses the referee who stopped the match and gave the win to Moxley, claiming he’d would have rather died than surrender. Moxley heads to the ring in response, but Kingston leaves.
• 9/30 - Moxley faces Kingston’s chosen challenger for his title, The Butcher, and wins.
• 10/7 - Moxley cuts a promo, preparing to face Lance Archer.
• 10/14 - Recap of AEW’s first year, mixed with Moxley vs Archer promos and recap.
• 10/14 - Moxley defends against Lance Archer. After the match, Kingston and his family beat up Moxley. Kingston cuts a BRUTAL promo after the show finishes airing. (Anyone got a link to it?)
• 10/21 - Eddie and his family crash the pre-show to talk about how the Lucha Bros and Butcher and Blade will dominate.
• 10/21 - Jon Moxley explains his friendship with Eddie Kingston.

Anso Monte Carlo, FatCarbon CF	450	B	Purchased from CutFJ for $800. The inspiration for the ZT 0230, this is a great little friction folder with a half stop. Non-locking and under 3" (2.6"), so legal pretty much everywhere, yet still enough handle for a 4-finger grip with my hands. This one has whirly FatCarbon scales, so it disappears in the pocket. Had a grindy action early in my time with it, but that's gone away by now.	Felt sleeve
Mayo Medium TNT	1300	B	Purchased here for $1325. Never thought I'd sell my Mayo, but here we are. Incredibly smooth action reveals a 3.25", hand-satined XHP blade that is an incredible user. Has been carried a smidge, so some light signs of wear. Big ol crater on the scale. Fit and finish is of course literally as good as it gets.	Pouch
TAD Dervish Dauntless	750	B	Table price was $950, and $200-below-table on a limited edition Dauntless is absurd. There are 3 of these in the entire world. Big ol 20CV blade (3.85") with carboquartz and CF scales. Scales make it way lighter than it looks. Just give these two veterans complete creative control over this match and you’ll get some crazy shit, but they always make it work. The only thing I would add is that The Elite and The Inner Circle are involved in a portion of the match.

PAC and Orange Cassidy continue their feud and decide to culminate it at Double or Nothing. This time, they recruit their friends to clash in a great 6-man bout.

Jon Moxley makes his first AEW PPV defence against Darby Allin. Two maniacs putting their bodies through hell in a chaotic match in the main event of Double or Nothing. Both men refuse to stay down. Darby Allin even kicks out of 2 Paradigm Shifts. A presumably bloody Jon Moxley hits a top rope Paradigm Shift on Darby Allin to retain his AEW World Championship. Mox shows Darby some respect after the match. He will go on to face newcomer Brian Cage at Fyter Fest in July.

Tony breaks down the card, sharing details on the making of the Mimosa Mayhem Match between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy, and how he was able to arrange for NWA Women’s Champ Thunder Rosa to challenge AEW Women’s Champ Hikaru Shida. Tony also talks Matt Cardona, the rise of MJF, the possible departure of Matt Hardy, FTR’s impact, and the domination of Brodie Lee and The Dark Order. Plus, you’ll find out how Jon Moxley found out about his #1 ranking in the 2020 PWI Top 500.
Interesting Notes:

• Live Event Experience
  
  • Regarding allowing fans back in - they started at 10% capacity, and hope to eventually work up to around 15% capacity (Daily's Place seats over 5,000, so roughly 700-800 people max). They're aiming for around 12-13% for All Out. "Frankly, compared to what we were at, 700 fans could feel like 7,000."
  • They talk about how special having fans back feels. Tony says that Jericho described it as one of the greatest moments of his nearly 30-year career. As a side note, Tony points out that Dynamite's debut was also, to the day, Jericho's 29th anniversary in wrestling. Next month will be his 30th anniversary, and Dynamite's 1-year anniversary.
  • Tony talks about how well AEW had been selling tickets in the past (notes that they had the highest average number of tickets sold per event in 2019, out of any wrestling promotion), but that, now, he's "proudest not of the number [of tickets they're selling], but I'm proud of the way we did it." He talks about the safety measures in place, and how receptive and compliant the fans have been. He talks about cracking down to ensure that strangers aren't sitting next to each other, and ensuring consistent mask wearing. Tony shares an anecdote about the Mayor of Jacksonville being at their event. Raphael Morffi, the person who was in charge of ensuring fan safety, did not know who he was and went up to him to ask him to put his mask back on after he finished/eating drinking. The Mayor happily obliged.
• Match Card
  
  • (The Buy-In) Dr. Britt Baker DMD vs Big Swole - Tooth And Nail Match: This will be a No Disqualification, Falls Count Anywhere match that takes place in-and-around a dentist's office. Tony says it should be a lot of fun, and he looks forward to Britt's return to the ring.
  • The Casino Battle Royale: He says this match will show just how far AEW has come since it's very first match, the Casino Battle Royale on the Double or Nothing 2019 Buy-In. Points out that a key differentiation is that this match will contain many top stars in AEW, as opposed to past Casino Battle Royales that had to use lots of lower-card or independent wrestling talent. "Without spoiling all of the names in it, there's gonna be some fun people in this match and I'm really excited for what is to come."
  • Thunder Rosa vs Hikaru Shida (c): Tony says he hadn't considered booking Thunder Rosa, but Kenny Omega brought her up as a potential contender, with the hang up being that she works for the NWA. Tony felt confident that they could work something out with NWA (and obviously succeeded) to have Thunder Rosa challenge for the title. They talk about how this should be another great match for Shida, and talk about great matches she's had previously, including winning the title against Nyla Rose, and the pandemic-era match in which she broke Britt Baker's nose (which Tony calls one of the best performances they've had on Dynamite).
  • Orange Cassidy vs Chris Jericho - Mimosa Mayhem: Tony says that he and Chris had kicked around the idea of a mimosa-themed match, but that they didn't know what exactly it would entail. Chris called Tony one day with an idea he had come up with for the match. The match can be won by pinfall, submission, or being thrown into the 80-gallon vat of mimosa. They talk up the growth of Orange Cassidy as a breakout star in AEW: coming in with Best Friends (being their manager was Matt Jackson's idea), his match against PAC and how over the "he's gonna try" chant was, and how he's gotten to the point where he's having a rubber match with Chris Jericho on a PPV.
  • The Young Bucks vs Jurassic Express: Both are top-5 tag teams, and Tony considers this match to be a title-eliminator of sorts. Tony expects this to be a very fast-paced, fun, and exciting match.
  • Matt Hardy vs Sammy Guevara - Broken Rules: Tony goes through the violent history between the two: Sammy coming from under the ring to attack Matt during his debut, Matt running down Sammy in the golf cart, their previous matches, brawls, segments, etc. It's a Last Man Standing match and should be the conclusion of their feud. The "Broken Rules" refer to Matt Hardy leaving AEW if he loses.
  • The Dark Order vs Natural Nightmares, Matt Cardona, & Scorpio Sky: Tony talks about the roll the Dark Order has been on lately, basically going back to when Colt Cabana joined the group. Points out that Brodie, in addition to destroying Cody, was the first to pin Hangman all year, and helped the Dark Order beat the Elite & FTR in a 6v6 match. He seems to imply that this match could determine the first challenger to Mr. Brodie Lee's TNT title. They talk up Scorpio Sky and Matt Cardona, who Tony points out is on a short-term contract but has impressed them so far, and that this PPV match will be a big opportunity for him.
  • FTR vs Adam Page & Kenny Omega (c): They talk about how good the previous match between Page & Omega vs The Young Bucks was, and Tony Schiavone says this match could be even better. Tony Khan responds, light-heartedly, with, "it's going to be hard to top the greatest tag team match in the history of pay-per-views." But goes on to say that if any match could, it's going to be this one. He says Kenny & Hangman's reign has been really special. Aubrey talks up AEW's tag team division, and points out the different styles between the two tag team matches on the card for All Out.
  • MJF vs Jon Moxley (c): Just in case there was any doubt, they confirm this match will be the main event. Tony says this should be a great wrestling match, and gives Moxley the advantage if goes out of the ring, but MJF the advantage if it stays within the ring. Points out how neither wrestler has been pinned or submitted in their AEW careers, and says that it's not often that you see two wrestlers face off for the world title after both being on such a roll for over a year. Tony talks about how important Jon has been to AEW, and how great of a champion he's been. He says that Jon is a student of wrestling, and how he got to deliver the news to him that he was #1 in this year's PWI 500, and noted how much that meant to him.

Tony ends the podcast talking about how happy he is with Fulham FC's recent promotion to the Premier League.

All Out is this Saturday. If you haven't been watching Dynamite lately, or are just curious and want to know what is going on, here's a summary of the angles leading to this weekends PPV, with links to video clips from AEW's Youtube or Twitter.
Some of these storylines have been going on for months, but the PPV is tomorrow, so there's no way you're going to be watching a dozen episodes of Dynamite, so here's some quick notes.

The Buy In: Private Party vs the Dark Order's 3 and 4.
Private Party, Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen, are young, love to party, and have Matt Hardy as their manager.
John Silver (3) and Alex Reynolds(4) are junior members of the evil cult, the Dark Order, but have never won a tag match on their own. (They are hilarious on the "Being The Elite" webshow.)
Previously: There is no build up for this, it was added as a last minute replacement when the previous Buy-In match got placed in the main card.

Dr. Britt Baker DMD vs Big Swole in a "Tooth and Nail" match.
Dr. Britt Baker DMD is a dentist with a massive ego.
Big Swole has a big attitude.
Previously: After Dr. Britt Baker DMD got injured in a match, keeping her in a wheelchair for months, she accused every other woman in the division for being jealous of her talent and position as the face of the AEW Women's Division. Big Swole has no patience for that nonsense.

• 8/5 Dynamite - Britt Baker orders her assistant Rebel, who she continually calls Reba, to face Big Swole in the ring. Hilarity ensues.
• 8/17 Women’s Tag Team Cup - Britt Baker distracted Big Swole during the semi-finals, causing her team to lose.
• 8/22 Dynamite - Britt Baker recruited Penelope Ford to join Rebel in facing Big Swole in a handicap match.
• 8/27 Dynamite - Big Swole defeated Rebel and Penelope Ford in a handicap match, winning the right to choose a stipulation for the match against Britt Baker. This was not a great match.
• 9/2 Dynamite - Big Swole announced that their “Tooth and Nail” match at All Out will be held at Britt Baker’s dentist office. Rebel distracted Swole as Britt attacked her from behind.

Casino Battle Royale - 21 Person Match for a chance at the AEW World Title.
Who?

• "Absolute" Ricky Starks is a suave and charismatic talker with a chip on his shoulder.
• Brian "The Machine" Cage is ridiculously built. Both he and Starks are managed by Taz.
• Darby Allin, an emo skater with a death wish, has been feuding with both Starks and Cage.
• The Lucha Brothers, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero M(formerly Pentagon Jr), are possibly the best tag team in the world, vicious and acrobatic.
• The Butcher and the Blade are another nasty tag team, who have been teaming up with the Lucha Bros recently.
• Eddie Kingston, the "mad king" is a down to earth brawler with a tongue of gold.
• Lance "the Murderhawk Monster" Archer beats up people for fun. Jake "the Snake" Roberts is his manager.
• Billy and his son Austin Gunn are Gunn Club. Billy is old but still a massive powerhouse. Austin is young and LOUD.
• Shawn Spears has been punching people with a loaded glove at the behest of his manager, Tully Blanchard.
• Santana and Ortiz, members of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle, are cheating thugs from New York.
• Jake Hager, also part of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle, is big but has no personality.
• Best Friends, Trent? and Chuck Taylor get more powerful by hugging.
• There's more mystery entrants to the Casino Battle Royale not yet announced.

Previously: Best Friends have been feuding with Santana and Ortiz after they destroyed Trent's mom's minivan. Darby Allin got injured by Brian Cage, then viciously attacked his partner Ricky Starks.

• 8/22 Dynamite - After winning a match, Darby Allin got mocked by Ricky Starks. Then he got assaulted by both Starks and Brian Cage.
• 8/22 Dynamite - Eddie Kingston united the Lucha Bros and the Butcher and the Blade under his leadership. He also winked at the camera, so he may be playing them all for fools.
• 8/27 Dynamite - Eddie Kingston announced that he and his buddies, The Lucha Bros and The Butcher and the Blade, will be competing in the Casino Battle Royal. Eddie is glorious at cutting promos.
• 8/27 Dynamite - Jake "the Snake" Roberts announced that Lance Archer would be competing at the Casino Battle Royale, but got interrupted by Taz, who likewise announced that Ricky Starks and Brian Cage would be competing as well.
• 9/2 Dynamite - A bunch of people cut promos preparing for the Casino Battle Royale. Then, everyone fought.

Thunder Rosa vs Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women's Title.
Hikaru Shida is the AEW Women's Champion.
Thunder Rosa is the NWA World Women's Champion.
Previously: AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida made an open challenge for any woman willing to face her.

• 8/12 Dynamite - After winning a match, Hikaru Shida reiterated her open challenge.
• 8/22 Dynamite - NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa challenged Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World title.
• 8/27 Dynamite - Thunder Rosa and Hikaru Shida had their contract signing.
• 9/2 Dynamite - NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa defeated Serena Deeb to show her stuff before her match at All Out. It was good.

Orange Cassidy vs Chris Jericho in a "Mimosa Mayhem" match.
Orange Cassidy is lazy and treats wrestling like a 9 to 5 job, putting in the minimal amount of effort needed. But sometimes, he TRIES.
Chris Jericho, the "demo god," is an egotistical aging rock star. Together he and his lackeys form The Inner Circle.
Previously: Orange Cassidy made the mistake of walking past Jericho while he was cutting a promo backstage. Jericho beat up Orange Cassidy both in and out of the ring. Cassidy dumped gallons of Orange Juice on Jericho, staining his fancy jacket. Jericho demanded a debate, followed by a rematch. Orange Cassidy won both.

• 8/22 Dynamite - Chris Jericho challenged Orange Cassidy to a “Mimosa Mayhem” match. You can win by throwing your opponent into a tub of mimosa.
• 8/27 Dynamite - After a night of Chris Jericho on commentary, Orange Cassidy rushed out of nowhere to assault him.
• 9/2 Dynamite - Jake Hager ordered Orange Cassidy to be ringside at Jericho’s match.
• 9/2 Dynamite - Chris Jericho cut a promo about how he’ll beat Orange Cassidy.
• 9/2 Dynamite - After beating Joey Janela, Chris Jericho tried to intimidate Orange Cassidy. But Orange Cassidy just doesn’t care.

Jurassic Express vs Young Bucks
The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson are one of the best tag teams in the world and they know it. They are part of The Elite along with Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page.
Jurassic Express is the team of Luchasaurus, a 65 million year old dinosaur, and the two young wrestlers he's sort of a father figure to, Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt.

• 8/31 Being the Elite #219 - The Young Bucks talk with Jurassic Express in anticipation of teaming up at the upcoming Dynamite. They’re more than a little arrogant.
• 9/2 Dynamite - The Young Bucks, still angry at Hangman’s betrayal, were kinda jerks to their partners in Jurassic Express. But together the two teams beat Private Party and SCU, getting a spot at All Out. Now, those two teams will face off against each other at the PPV.

Sammy Guevara vs Matt Hardy in a "Broken Rules" match
Sammy Guevara is a young conceited vlogger, part of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle.
Matt Hardy, recently arrived at AEW, has had many personalities over the years, but is now out for blood.
PREVIOUSLY: Matt Hardy, allied with Kenny Omega and the Elite, faced Sammy Guevara and the Inner Circle. The two have been feuding ever since.

• 8/5 Dynamite - Matt Hardy called out Sammy for rejecting his advice to leave Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle. They fought. Sammy threw a chair at Matt Hardy, who got seriously injured.
• 8/12 Dynamite - After his serious injury, Matt Hardy attacked a ref, mistaking him for Sammy.
• 8/22 Dynamite - Sammy bragged about beating up Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy ambushed Sammy and began to savagely attack him.
• 8/27 Dynamite - Sammy defeated Matt Hardy in a tables match.
• 8/31 Road to All Out - A recap of the Matt Hardy vs Sammy Guevara feud also announced their match at All Out. The Broken Rules match.
• 9/2 Dynamite - Sammy once again bragged about beating Matt Hardy. Matt responded, saying that Sammy would be DELETED. Their “Broken Rules” Last Man Standing, Anything Goes match must have a winner. If Sammy wins, Hardy leaves AEW.

Dark Order vs Natural Nightmares, Scorpio Sky and Matt Cardona
The Dark Order is a cult that recruits people who have been losing, promising to make them better.

• Mr. Brodie Lee is the leader of the Dark Order, who is a tyrant to his minions.
• Colt Cabana is a fun loving guy who is slowly being recruited to join and doesn't quite get that the Dark Order are bad guys.
• Evil Uno and Stu Grayson are the main lieutenants of Brodie Lee.

The Natural Nightmares are the team of "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes, and QT Marshall, who is having a mid-life crisis. QT is sorta/kinda seeing Allie, who is totally using him, but he's too infatuated with her to realize he's just a pawn in her schemes. Both Dustin Rhodes and QT are part of Cody's "Nightmare Family" along with his wife Brandi Rhodes, and his coach Arn Anderson.
Scorpio Sky, part of SCU, has been fighting the Dark Order off and on for months.
Matt Cardona is Cody's friend who despite being popular online, has shown no personality in the ring during his recent arrival at AEW.
PREVIOUSLY: Cody has been defending the TNT Championship weekly.

• 8/5 Dynamite - Cody and his friend Matt Cardona defeated two junior members of the Dark Order. Scorpio Sky challenged Cody for the TNT Championship.
• 8/12 Dynamite - After beating Scorpio Sky to retain the TNT Championship, Cody was challenged by Brodie Lee, leader of the Dark Order.
• 8/22 Dynamite - Brodie Lee, leader of the Dark Order, swiftly defeated Cody and won the TNT Championship. Then, he and his minions beat up Cody more, and his family and friends for good measure.
• 8/27 Dynamite - The Dark Order held a mocking “funeral” for Cody. Then, Brodie Lee bragged about the Dark Order. Dustin Rhodes, QT Marshall came to try and get revenge for Cody, joined by Matt Cardona as well as Scorpio Sky before the Dark Order retreated.
• 8/31 Road to All Out - QT Marshall cuts the promo of his life about his upcoming match at All Out.
• 9/2 Dynamite - A promotional video showing the Dark Order and the team ready to face them.

FTR vs Hangman Adam Page & Kenny Omega for the AEW Tag Team Titles
Kenny Omega is a lighthearted guy with a bit of a temper who is also possibly the best pro wrestler in the world. Hangman Adam Page is the anxious millennial cowboy, who compensates for his impostor syndrome by drinking too much and alienating his friends. They are the AEW tag champs, and members of The Elite.
FTR, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, are an old-school tag-team new to AEW, who have been overly friendly to the Elite, especially Hangman Adam Page. Tully Blanchard is their new manager.
Previously: Hangman has been finding FTR to be better friends to him than his Elite teammates Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. For more details on this plot, check this thread.

• 8/5 Dynamite - Hangman, Kenny, the Young Bucks and FTR faced Brodie Lee and the Dark Order. Dax of FTR got injured, and Hangman accompanied them backstage to medical, leaving the rest of the Elite at a disadvantage. Hangman later returned, but was defeated by Brodie Lee.
• 8/12 Dynamite - At Tag Team Appreciation Night, FTR joined Tully Blanchard and beat up the Rock and Roll Express.
• 8/22 Dynamite - Kenny Omega lost his temper and had to be restrained by the Young Bucks after beating two members of the Dark Order. They are not getting along.
• 8/22 Dynamite - Hangman tries to confront FTR about their attack on the Rock and Roll Express the previous week, but they distract him with beer. Then, they convince him that he needs to stop the Young Bucks from getting another title shot.
• 8/27 Dynamite - Hangman intervened in the match between the Young Bucks and the Best Friends, causing the Young Bucks to lose. They’re upset at him. Then, with the Young Bucks eliminated, FTR was able to beat the Best Friends. FTR earned a title shot against Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega at All Out.
• 8/27 Dynamite - The Young Bucks kicked Hangman out of the Elite.
• 9/2 Dynamite - Tully Blanchard coached FTR about the upcoming title match.
• 9/2 Dynamite - Kenny was confronted by FTR, who claimed they just wanted a good clean fight for the tag belts. But when Hangman arrived, they also made it clear that they’d used him. Hangman betrayed the Young Bucks for nothing. Kenny isn’t happy either. Now Hangman is all alone.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman "MJF" vs Jon Moxley, AEW World Champion
Jon Moxley, a miserable son of a bitch, is the undefeated AEW World Champion.
MJF is also technically undefeated, but cheats with the help of his massive bodyguard, Wardlow.
Previously: MJF is preparing for his title shot against Moxley with a “championship campaign.”

• 8/12 Dynamite - MJF insulted Moxley, thinking he wasn’t at the show that evening. Moxley responded by attacking MJF with the Paradigm Shift.
• 8/22 Dynamite - MJF, claiming to be seriously injured by Moxley’s attack, demanded that the Paradigm Shift be banned.
• 8/27 Dynamite - At the contract signing, Moxley agreed to not use the Paradigm Shift finisher at the title match at All Out. But he gets to beat up MJF’s lawyer in a match before MJF can face him in the ring.
• 9/2 Dynamite - Moxley cut a promo against MJF.
• 9/2 Dynamite - MJF intimidated his lawyer, who was scared of having to face Moxley.
• 9/2 Dynamite - After beating up MJF’s lawyer, Mox got overwhelmed by a much more vicious MJF, no longer playing at being injured.
